Artist's statement

"The only valid thing in art is the one thing that cannot be explained, to explain away the mystery of a great painting would do irreplaceable harm, for whenever you explain or define something you substitute the explanation or definition for the image of the thing." -- Henry Matisse So here I am, trying to define my art. There is so much to be said about seeing, about how we have learned to perceive, about our experience of the world. Art can certainly have multiple messages and meanings. My art becomes a form of visual documentation of my experiences, moral standards and traditions.
